KATEY BAKER

Certifications: National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)

Experience: Training Since 2018

Katey started training herself in 2014 to prepare for a beach vacation. During this time she fell in love with the process . Training helped her overcome physical and mental obstacles. During this process Katey learned that her passion was to become a personal trainer and teach others. Katey believes that people don't know where to start on the path to health and fitness and they often let fear get in the way of reaching their goals. Katey wants to help other people reach their fullest potential.

Certifications: International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) American Sports Fitness Association (ASFA), Certified Personal Trainer, Red Cross Certified in CPR, AED,

Experience: Training Since 2010

Jason specializes in weight loss, training athletes to achieve peak performance, calisthenics, body building, and plyometrics with women and men with a variety of body types.

LEON KING

Experience: Training Since 2010

Leon’s passion for fitness began as a young boy participating in high school athletics. Leon focuses on developing and enhancing all individuals; form and technique through detailed and direct instructions. He believes everyone has the potential to improve and helps each person reach and achieve his or her goals. Specialties are plyometrics, circuit training, core training, flexibility, endurance and senior fitness.

SARAH KANE

Sarah is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)

Experience: Training since 2018.

Becoming a certified personal trainer was one of the best decisions Sarah ever made. Each bit of information that Sarah studied about exercise and diet only made her want to learn more and more. Sarah was driven to better herself with this knowledge, but she also wanted to share it others who were struggling to find reliable sources of information about diet, exercise and healthy lifestyles. Being able to help others accomplish something is very rewarding. Many people thank me for helping them reach their goals, but I would like to thank them, because without them I wouldn’t be able to do what I truly love.

LAMARR NORWOOD

Certifications: Lamarr holds two fitness certifications from then National Academy of Sports Medicine and a Precision Nutrition certification from John Berardi, PhD.

Experience: Training Since 2005

Specialties: As a high school wrestler, and student of the Universal Kempo Karate Association (U.K.K.S.A) Lamarr learned that discipline and hard work will develop all of the characteristics for success. As an Air Force veteran Lamarrs leadership and commitment to keep moral high gives a glimpse into his path as a fitness professional.

While serving with a committed group of young U.S. Airmen in 1996, Lamarr’s obvious passion for fitness and his ability to create and lead focused and engaging workouts that kept the moral high during deployments to Hot Zones.

In a time of uncertainty for not only his unit but the entire country he displayed an unselfish will to keep the minds and spirits of the team focused on the mission, with nothing but faith in the midst of his own uncertainty. As a leader and a trainer Lamarr has the benefit of hindsight and the insight of experience, both of which he eagerly offers up through his fitness coaching.

Lamarr Norwood is also former 16 year member of the New York City Emergency Medical Services, and a passionate speaker. Over the course of his 16 years in EMS, Lamarr has responded to thousands of emergency calls throughout New York City. Many of these calls were for seemingly healthy people that had suffered heart attacks, strokes and cardiac arrest as a result of undiagnosed medical conditions.

These all too frequent occurrences were and continue to be the driving force behind Lamarr’s decision to walk away from his E.M.S. job in 2014 and focus completely on improving the quality of life for everyone that he has the privilege of working with. He began working as a Personal Trainer in 2003 at several gyms throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan in NYC and has had great success with his one-on-one and group clients over the years.

Let’s face it – everyone wants great abs! Let us chisel your core! This is the class for you if you want to get rid of back fat, love handles and muffin tops. The majority of this class will consist of intense belly – blasting timed abdominal training on the floor mats.

Member Orientation

New to the Gym? Familiarize yourself with the gym equipment and layout so you feel confident and ready to achieve your fitness goals. Trainer will give you a guided tour of the facility, show you how to use some of the equipment and give you some great exercise tips. Ideal for beginners!

“Bands Make Em’ Dance'“

Transform your body and boost your performance with the utilization of resistance bands. This is a one hour fun-filled bootcamp suitable for all ages and fitness stages where we’ll put your body and bands to use like never before!

Boxing

Boxing is truly a whole body workout, involving both upper body strength, footwork, core power, mental stamina, and cardiovascular conditioning. One hour of boxing has the ability to burn up to 1000 calories and will engage your body and mind, strengthening the neuro-muscular pathways in your brain while pushing your physical limits.

Rollin’ with Katey

Use of foam rollers on your own muscles and some light stretching is great to reduce tightness, increase blood flow and joint range of motion. Anyone can benefit from rolling. It can be used to relax tight muscles after sitting at a desk all day or to heal and recover after a tough work-out when you are sore or as a warm up to a work-out to reduce thick connective tissue or even for scar tissue. Relax and roll with it!

Circuit Training

Circuit training focuses on body conditioning through cardiovascular endurance. Participants will do resistance training at high-intensity and the class will target strength building and muscle endurance while always being mindful of core stability.

Zumba involves dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic Latin and international music. The class is invigorating and one of the most enjoyable workouts for toning and heart health!

Tread-N-Shred

Want to try something different? This is where the rubber hits the road!

This innovative class gives you the best of both worlds – cardio and strength. Part treadmill, part Boot Camp.

Suspension Techniques

Classes consist of resistance training using your own body weight in a variety of functional exercises and dynamic positions to help develop strength, balance, flexibility and joint stability. This is total body training with suspension straps and calisthenics. Work your chest, back, legs and core with nothing but gravity!

Spinning

Ready for the burn and glowing skin? Spin cycling burns some serious fat and is heart healthy. Cycling strengthens your core and gives your great legs. Spin workouts improve circulation, lung capacity and can even help digestion! Spinning also gives you an amazing endorphin rush leaving you in a great mood, promotes better sleep and helps your immune system.

Tabata

Using one of the most effective types of high intensity interval training you will be performing full body exercises, pushing yourself as hard as you can for 20 second intervals, with 10 seconds in between for a total of 8 rounds. After four rounds of tabata we will be finishing with some abs and a relaxing stretch/cooldown.

Core Blaster

This class is solely focused on building you a stronger core to keep a solid foundation. Building a strong core is truly essential to achieving your dream body. You should always remember to engage your core during every exercise you do. Forgetting to can cause you to lose balance and overcompensate with the wrong muscles. This class engages and strengthens your core.
